Podcast: New OC, DC, & Cousins Update w/ Jerry Brewer

The Washington Redskins have found themselves both a new Offensive and Defensive Coordinator for season 2017 (and beyond?), promoting two in-house assistant coaches in Matt Cavanaugh and Greg Manusky, respectively.

Given some of the big names linked with the Redskins coordinator vacancies, especially on the defensive side, should fans be disappointed or concerned about what these “uninspired” in-house promotions signal for ongoing stability moving forward?

To help hosts Chad and Mark unpack all of that, they once again call upon good friend of the show and all around football genius Jerry Brewer from the Washington Post. Unsurprisingly, Jerry brings some fascinating insight into the selection process and the perceptions that emanate from these hirings.

Towards the end of our chat, we ask Jerry about the current status of the looming negotiations between the Redskins and Kirk Cousins, and Jerry drops a couple of bombs on us about just how different the public comments from each side may be compared to the actual thinking and plans.

It’s a must-listen episode for Redskins fans who, like us, still live and breathe Redskins football even in the early stages of what is already proving to be an interesting offseason!
