We are 72 hours away from the biggest moment of the NFL season, and although it sucks that the Redskins aren’t in it, we still love football and are looking forward to a great matchup. Will Cam Newton dab all over that Broncos elite defense? Will Peyton Manning end his career as a champion? There are a lot of great storylines in this year’s Super Bowl and it looks like it will end up being a hell of a show for the fans.
This season we wanted to do something new and give our Super Bowl predictions and how we see the big game turning out.
Here is how each member of the RCC crew predicts Super Bowl 50 will unfold:
CHAD RYAN – @ChadwikoRCC
All the conventional wisdom seems to suggest that Cam Newton (who will be crowned the 2015 MVP regular season MVP when the award is given out) and the Carolina Panthers should continue their dominant streak and come out of Super Bowl 50 crowned as the champions. And yet, I can’t shake the feeling that some way, some how Peyton Manning will muster up every single ounce of football juice he has left in his body to do just enough to drag Denver over the line.
The Broncos are deserved underdogs when you consider the caliber of Quarterback play they’ve put on the field this season, and the Panthers defense is a scary beast.
And yet…
My pick is a “from the heart, not the head” pick.
Broncos 32 Panthers 18.
ANTHONY RAPOSA – @anthonyraposa
They say defense wins championships, and this game will live up to that mantra, with two elite defense going at it. I believe the first half will be low scoring and things will start to open up in the second half. Peyton Manning’s arm strength is a big concern of mine and the Carolina defense will be ready to pounce. I expect Manning to throw at least two INT’s and one that will be costly to the Broncos and the game. The best chance Denver has to win is by stopping Cam Newton, and that isn’t going to happen. The Panthers are a complete football team on all sides of the ball, and the Broncos offense will hold them back in this one. Cam Newton will be MVP with two touchdowns in the air and a rushing touchdown on the ground. Luke Kuechly will also have a big game, and get a big turnover from Manning. The Panthers end their season with one of the greatest seasons in NFL history. I’m taking…
Panthers 24 Broncos 13
MARK PHILLIPS – @RedskinsReview
Denver offense is the weak link. Denver D keeps them in it but a pick 6 seals it for the Panthers…
Panthers 31 Broncos 17
JUSTIN BYRAM – @Justin_Byram
I’ll go with a close game, and a defensive battle, but the Panthers pull it out…
Panthers 21 Broncos 17
SAMUEL GOLD – @SamuelRGold
Panthers’ offense is evenly matched with Denver’s defense, but Peyton Manning has regressed to the point that the Panthers’ defense will be able to shut down the Broncos’ run game while still dropping seven men into coverage on every play. The Panthers’ offensive line is a lot better than the Patriots’ offensive line, which will help negate the impact of Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware allowing time for Cam Newton’s receivers to get open even against great coverage by Denver’s defense.
Panthers 27 Broncos 14
EMMANUAL BENTON – @MANNY_PPI
I think Peyton is going to have to be near perfect against a good, athletic defense to win. I just see him making a costly mistake and Cam will seize the opportunity.
Panthers 24 Broncos 21
