The 2015 season still feels like it’s an entire lifetime away, but at least Redskins fans now know which teams they’ll be facing in the preseason.
The NFL last night released the preseason match ups, and the Washington Redskins have an interesting slate of games, to say the least;
- Cleveland Browns
- Detroit Lions
- Baltimore Ravens
- Jacksonville Jaguars
A few points of note about the Redskins 2015 preseason schedule. Firstly, Tampa Bay, whom the Redskins have played in every preseason since 2010, are no longer on the schedule. Instead the Redskins are playing 3 AFC teams and 1 NFC team, and for some reason 2 of those 3 AFC teams are from the AFC North.
As most people know, Week 3 of preseason is typically the game where the projected starters get the most game time, and the Ravens will be a formidable-yet-beatable Week 3 opponent for the Redskins, where a win would fill Quarterback Robert Griffin III and Head Coach Jay Gruden with confidence heading into the regular season.
Week 1 vs the Cleveland Browns will likely be a game that will enable the Redskins coaching staff to decide on which QB will carry the clipboard behind Griffin in week 1, giving fans another storyline to watch in the preseason games.
